Track is Back!
Hopkinton Recreation's Track Program for 2021
Join us Sunday and Wednesday evenings to learn the keys to running faster, jumping higher and throwing further! Using proven developmental drills and fun games, NCAA college coaches Zach Emerson (running), Whitney Cyr (throwing), Kyle Williams (sprinting) and Rob Boardman (jumping) look to share their decades of experience competing and coaching at the highest levels with Hopkinton’s grades K-6!
Focusing on a new movement theme each week, your little athlete will be safely taught a series of fundamental functional movements that can be used in any sport or physical activity.
ALL-AMERICANS (1st-3rd grade) & FURURE ALL STARS (Kindergarten) — 6pm-7pm: Will focus on a progression of simple to complex movements throughout practice, ending each week with a fun game to directly apply their new skills.
OLYMPIANS (4th-6th grades) 6pm-7:30pm: Will develop similar skills as the All-American group, but additionally will have a hands-on introduction to a different track & field event each week. They will not only learn the basics of each event, but given the opportunity to see which events they enjoy most.
What to bring: Water bottle, running shoes and appropriate workout clothes.
Considerations: Masks are expected to be worn at all times by athletes, coaches and parents. Social distancing will be emphasized at all times. Games, drills and events will be constructed to respect each other’s personal space.
Practice Dates: May 16, May 19, May 23, May 26, May 30, June 2, June 6, June 9
