We are happy to announce that the Town of Hopkinton will be opening Kimball Pond on June 20th! Given the unusual circumstances this year, we are having to approach the summer at Kimball Pond a little differently. After discussions with the Town’s Safety Officers and approval of the Select Board, we are able to open with the following guidelines:
-To maintain proper social distancing on the beach and in the water, we will permit a maximum of 40 people on the beach at one time and 15 in the water at one time.
-From 10 am – 6 pm each day, the pond will be open first come, first served. You are welcome to wait in line at the gate for patrons to depart if we are at capacity.
-Access will be available to Hopkinton residents only. Please bring your ID with you to show at the gate.
-We request that residents limit their stay to 2 hours or less.
-We ask that you maintain a 6 ft. distance from other patrons both in and out of the water.
-We encourage the use of masks.
-The toy box toys, life vests, volleyball and picnic tables will not be available.
-We will have porta potties on site that are cleaned weekly by the rental company. Consider bringing any additional sanitizing materials that make you feel comfortable.
As with all Town property, we are asking each person to mindfully monitor their own individual actions to promote safety at our facilities. We want to offer this recreational opportunity to the community this summer and we need everyone’s help in following the guidelines to ensure that it can stay open. We are so looking forward to an enjoyable time at Kimball Pond this summer and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
