The Recreation Department is currently planning to hold summer camp this year. We are looking at how to make this happen in a safe and responsible way for your children. There are many pieces coming together, but a different approach is required as it will need to be structured a little differently than in the past. There will most likely be no field trips but we are considering different options to provide more local activities to fill those time slots. We also need to consider group size and our priority will be to serve our residents first.
We appreciate your patience as we go forward with this planning. Please note that if the major pieces do not come together to make this happen, we will work as we did last year to match up babysitters as a back up plan. If babysitting is the only option available for our residents, we will work to find scholarship money for all who may need various levels of assistance.
In the meantime, it would be helpful to know what your needs are for camp this summer. The number of campers is definitely one important variable in this equation! If you live in Hopkinton or Contoocook, please email the Recreation Dept. at recreation@Hopkinton-NH.gov now to tell us how many campers (ages 6-11) you would send to Rec Camp and what weeks this summer you would send them. Camp could potentially start the week of June 28th. School starts back on Aug 30. Camp weeks are NOT set at the moment. Price is not set either, but we always keep our price as low as we can. Scholarships would be available.
Thank you for your patience and we look forward to providing more details in April.
